Visitors and New Shooters

New shooters and visitors are always welcome at SSAA Morinish so why not come along for a look? Or even better, participate in a shoot under the guidance of our Qualified Range Officers and helpful club members.

Visitors and members must comply with the SSAA Range Rules, the relevant SSAA Discipline Rules and the Range Standing Orders.  Pets must be leashed and kept away from the firing line.

Ear protection is required for all spectators and eye protection as well as enclosed footwear is required by all shooters.

Come Along and Try Shooting

Why not come along and give shooting a try in a safe and friendly environment?

When attending the range for practice or competition please follow these basic requirements:

  • Everyone MUST sign-on upon arrival and pay the appropriate range fees. This includes the range register, and Form 33 (for unlicensed shooters).

  • Unlicensed shooters must produce acceptable photo ID. For minors (aged 11-17 years) the following is acceptable photo ID:

    • Passport

    • School ID with photo

    • JP Certified photo of the child (certification to include Date of Birth). Only original certified photo is accepted

    • Learners Permit/Drivers Licence

    • Photo Identification Card issued by Queensland Transport - provides proof of age for Queenslanders aged 15 years or older

  • Please arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled shoot start time to facilitate completion of all paperwork

  • Unlicensed shooters will be given a hi-viz vest to wear to identify them as new shooters and they will be individually supervised by a licensed member of the club when shooting. Our Range Officer’s and Club Members are there to help in any way and make your shooting experience fun and safe.

  • All necessary equipment can be provided for a $10.00 fee.
